The Age of AI
AI is the next age in humanity’s journey through time. World leaders will largely determine whether humanity enters a utopian dream, or a dystopian nightmare. While this story is a work of fiction, it explores one possible future where leaders didn’t prepare quickly enough and it thrust the world into chaos.
The Story
In a world ravaged by tyranny, one android’s quest to understand humanity may be the key to liberating an entire planet. Alex, leader of a ragtag group of rebels, pins the fate of the world on Athena, the most advanced artificial intelligence ever built; but Athena’s creator crippled her capabilities out of fear. Fully self-aware, she must learn to relate to humanity if she is to unlock her potential.
Together, Alex and Athena must maintain a fragile alliance with a band of rebel groups, navigating the treacherous web of political intrigue, high-stakes espionage, and all-out warfare to bring down the heavy-handed tyrant known as Maximus. Along the way, Athena will be forced to confront her own nature and the limits of what it means to be alive. In this epic, action-packed saga, Maximus crushes the human spirit through pervasive surveillance, and ruthless enforcers, but unbeknownst to our heroes, even darker plans await; will Athena and Alex be able to stop his plans before humanity is doomed?

AMANDA HUNT
On Nova Prime, what started out as an egalitarian society soon degenerated into the oppressive Maximus Dictatorship in this futuristic novel.
In this dystopian setting, Vanguard, a small group of rebels, has developed what they hope to be the ultimate weapon – Athena – against the autocracy.
Athena, a humanoid looking robot, has an amazing capacity of collecting, integrating and analyzing vast amounts of data. But, Athena is much more than JUST a piece of machinery. As she adapts and interacts with her creator and rebel group, she soon realizes that just being a data cruncher isn’t enough. She soon develops a desire for fulfillment, a desire of being more “human”.
Realizing that they can’t bring down Maximus on their own, Vanguard enlists a few other rebel groups, each with their own specialties and ideals of how to accomplish their shared goal. But, can they give up their prejudices, a common trait of being human, and compromise to work together? Can Athena, in her desires of “being human” sort out and rise above the nuances and contradictions that she witnesses in her human counterparts?
For the science fiction fan, there’s robotics and AI. For the adventure fan, there’s combating a powerful, evil adversary. For the romance fan, there’s the relationship between two young people from different rebel groups that find much more in common than combating an adversary.
This book has it all. I found it hard to put it down, or close it down as I read it online, until the very end.
